I want to go back to school to receive my BBA because I want to be able to provide a secure future for both myself and my family.
I was laid off from a job that I had been employed with for 9 years in March of last year. Since then, I have been unemployed and, every once in a while when I can, I draw unemployment until it runs out. I work as a Realtor as well, but I haven't had any money come in from that to help support my family since January of this year and before that it was September of last year. Every month, I have to pay out fees for being a Realtor though and we are in financial hardship due to all of these factors.
I have four immediate family members in college at the present time; my wife, Melissa, who attends King College and is about to finish her RN to BSN, my step-son Matthew, who is a sophomore at the University of VA. at Wise, my son, Jared, who is a freshman at King College and myself. I am taking online classes at ECPI School of Technology for my Associates in Computer Electronics Engineering. I will finish my degree in November of this year. My current grade point average is 3.87. I will also be the first in my immediate family to obtain a college degree.
With all four of us in college, you can imagine that we have had to take out numerous loans to pay for it all and that will soon have to be paid back. Until I get the schooling to provide me with these skills, education and abilities to have the kind of career that will enable me to provide the financial assistance for my family, I feel useless. I have applied for too many jobs to mention and nothing ever seems to happen. I know with the opportunity that this BBA degree would give me; I will be able to market myself to many employers and be gainfully employed again with a bright future for my family and myself.
My wife and I are members of Highlands Fellowship Church in Abingdon and we serve God in many different ways. We both serve as greeters; I work in the graphic arts in one of the venues as well as coach one of our Church softball teams. We love serving the Lord. We strongly believe what the Bible says that, "With God all things are possible". I want to be the leader of my family as God intended it to be and this would give me the chance to prove not only to my family, myself and the whole community that God is at work in all of our lives.
Thank you for your time and consideration and I can't wait to brighten my future at King College!
Thanks & God Bless,
William "Bill" Keesee
