I live in Hickory, N.C .but my Father had a stroke on Feb 29th. It affected his speech and short term memory. He has a wife who left him before he had the stroke but refuses to come back and help and refuses to give him a divorce. I have other family members but they can't stand him because he is so mean natured with his words. It's even worse now. I am the only one who will even try to take care of him. It is so hard he fusses and cusses in one breath and then expects to rub his feet in the next. I have a lot of decisions to make I want to go back home to Hickory but it breaks my heart to think about putting my Daddy in a home and he refuses to go Hickory. Please pray that God will direct my path and I will do the right thing. God Bless you all.

We go to church and pray together and want our relationship built on a solid foundation. Please pray God's shows us his will in our lives and gives us direction as to where he wants us to be. I ask that each of you pray for me and my husband as he has given into his call into the youth ministry. He had known for sometime that was were he was meant to be and what God has called him to do. God laid the plans and people in place for him. The pastor of our church has asked to ordain my husband into the minitsry and while talking to him last night he has decided that this is God's will for his life. He may not become a pastor of a church but then God may have other plans for his life as he has shown us in the past year - his will be done - not ours. Moving churches to begin a much needed ministry is hard thing to do but with faith and knowing that this is God's will for our lives does make the decision easier. The youth group has already grown in a few short weeks and conversations we continue to have at different times with different people keep telling us the same thing "If God wasn't in it and it wasn't where you were suppose to be - the kids wouldn't be there." It is amazing the sense of peace you receive once you accept God's will for your life. I grew up from a long line of pastor's in our family - never did I imagine I would be a youth ministry or pastor wife, but like I said earlier God has shown us that this is his will for our life. Another friend told me that God will also equip us when he calls us! That is so very true. Thank you for your prayers. Keep us and the youth in them for the months and years ahead.

My brother is an alcoholic and probably undiagnosed bipolar please pray for mercy and healing and that he will seek help for his addiction. He knows the truth about Jesus and has been baptized but has never changed his ways. He is 43 years old and now facing a divorce and is breaking my mom and dad's heart who are dedicated Christians.

Please lift me up in your prayers. I have had two back surgeries over the years and have become addicted to prescription pain medicine. I have lostalot over this and know that God will not give you more than you can handle. But it is very trying at times. I will be losing my job in a week or twoand someone broke into my car over the weekend and stole EVERTHING! Not sure where to turn. I just ask that you keep my in your prayers as I willeveryone as well. Thank you.

WCQR asks our listeners to continue to pray for the families and friends of the tornado in Iowa at the Scout Camp. Many were injured and some lost their lives. We continue to received e-mails and prayer requests and ask everyone to join us in lifting the children and their families to our Lord, our God.

Following are words from Sams Grandparents, John and Betty . Please lift them up in prayer along with Sams parents Sharon and Larry :

Sam was a really good kid. His 14th birthday is June 16th (shared by sister Sara who just turned 18). Sam was a Boy Scout and was well on his way to being an Eagle Scout one day. Three of his Scout friends died with him in the tornado and more than 40 were seriously injured. If you looked at the news pictures, the building they were in looked like it had been through a blender. It’s a wonder that many more were not killed. Friday night, 6/13, more than 700 friends, family and Boy Scouts met for almost four hours in a celebration of Sam’s life. Anyone who wanted got up to tell some small story about their remembrances of Sam and what he meant to them. It was a very moving experience. It could very well have served as a funeral, but that was yet to come at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 6/17. We are still a bit in shock from it all, but trying to get back into the routine. Sharon and family have a lot of church and family support there in Omaha and I believe will be OK with time. Please keep us in your prayers.

Please pray for my daughter. She has a drug addiction. We do not know where to turn. Pray that we have God's strength, courage, and wisdom to do the things we need to do, to put the right people in our path to help us deal with it, and the fortitude to withhold any financial support that could be turned into drug money. Pray for me as I have now had Karissia my foster daughter 7 months and went to court this week and she is going to be going back to her mom. I feelangry inside. Please pray for each of my friends that are ready to embark on a mission trip from Mtn View Baptist : We will be leaving for a Mission Trip to Nicaragua this Thursday and will return next Thursday. Please pray for our team and for us (Carleen, Vivia, Jerry, Tina, Crystal, Domingo, Brian, Nadine) as we go on this journey. Additionally, a second team from our Church leaves for the Dominican Republic on the 19th. Please keep them in prayer, (Susan, Kathy Lee). This trip is a medical mission.

I hate this, I hate life right now. I am going thru a bad divorce with a small child and the father is still abusive, just mental and verbal this time. It is so hard to feel like you have to keep fighting for your child against someone who is so manipulative. He vandalized my home and the police are watching, but they can't be here all the time. I am living in fear, and it is really wearing me down. I'm tired! I feel so alone and scared!!

My son's daycare teacher's father, Jay Wells has been diagnosed with Cancer of the Liver and Lungs, I believe he is in a fairly high staging of the disease. Please pray for the Lord's diving mercy and that his family may be uplifted during this time of need.

Please pray for my handling of emotions and stress. I love the Lord with all my heart and even teach two upper elementary Sunday School Classes at mychurch, but I get hurt so easily and have been a lot lately. I get very angry and at times, don't handle it like I should. I got sick Sunday and wasin bed until almost 4 p.m. I'm worried about my health so please pray for me. I know God will listen to you all.

I know there are many wonderful prayer warriors who listen to WCQR and participate in the Prayer ministry through the station, so I am sending thisrequest out to all of you. Our church just sent 20 high schoolers and adults to Romania for a mission trip. They left this morning, June 20, andwill be flying back into the Tri-Cities on June 29. I ask prayers for safety in travel, Spirit-filled attitudes, the ability to connect on adeeper level with the Romanians, that God will use them all mightily while they are there, and that they all return with an appreciation for all theblessings God has bestowed upon them! We just received word that Jerry Harmon’s oldest daughter passed away last night. She had been in the hospital for several weeks after having a reaction to some medication. Jerry had made several trips back and forth to visit her at Vanderbilt but last night the Lord seem to think it was time to bring her home. Please remember the Harmon family as they go through this difficult time.

First of all thank you and for your wonderful radio station. You all are awesome. I have a prayer request for you and your staff and each of your churches. My Mom (Betty Edwards) found out today she has a mass on her left kidney. They are not sure what it is but she has a history of cancerso we are fearing the worst. Will you please pray the Lord will be with her and my Dad and I pray if it's his will, that he will heal her. My Mom is a wonderful Christian woman who is my best friend. I want to praise the Lord for His goodness. My heart is heavy for my two teenage sons. I am praying for them to fully surrender their lives toJesus. They have both been saved. We just received word tonight that my brother Bill is in his final days of life on this earth. Many of you have been kept updated with his journey these last 5 months through his blog that my niece was updating.

I am asking each one of you to lift up his wife and children. My brother is only 52, his children are 25 and 24. Their names are Kum Hui Lorentz (wife), Janet, Scott and Will Hastey (daughter, son in law, grandson), Stephen and Catie Lorentz (son and daughter in law who are expecting a baby in October).

Please lift up my mother, Sue, to the Lord as she undergoes yet another major surgery this Friday. She contracted the life-threatening MRSA "staff infection" during her last surgery in July 07. The risk is extremely high once this infection has invaded the body. I'm battling fear like never before but I need to be strong for her and my dad.

I would like to ask the listeners to pray for Officer Bryan Lawrence who is with the Roanoke Virginia Police Department. I know Bryan through his workwith Project Lifesaver, the search and rescue program for people with Alzheimer's and he is a fellow Crime Prevention Specialist. On the Saturdaybefore Mother's Day, Bryan was working overtime at an event in Roanoke. He was apparently off duty and heading home, when a call went out that a womanhad been assaulted and a description of the vehicle was given out. Bryan came upon the vehicle and initiated the stop. When he did, the occupantsfled the vehicle and he began foot pursuit. As he was apprehending one of the suspects, the other suspect came from behind and attacked OfficerLawrence. According to the search warrant filed in Roanoke Circuit Court, the shoe print of the suspect could be made out in Bryan's head. He wascritically injured and in the days that followed, it was released that he was paralyzed from the neck down as the result of the injuries. He is nowin Shepherd's Hospital in Atlanta for rehabilitation. According to the latest news, he is learning to motivate his wheelchair using mouth controls.Bryan is a devout Christian and a Godly man. According to one report, he had bought roses on Saturday to deliver to ladies in a local nursing home inRoanoke. He took good care of the people on the Project Lifesaver program in Roanoke. Please lift him and his family in prayer that God will givethem the strength that they need and for healing. Cards can be sent in care of the Williamson Road substation of the Roanoke Police Department and alsoa fund has been established by the Roanoke Police Association. Thank you. My husband has been out of work for the majority of 5 years due to an injury. He was unable to get SSI & actually doesn't want disability. Hewants to work & support his family. He has applied for MANY jobs but has yet to find employment. He has made money here and there doing small jobs butnothing steady or to count on to pay our bills and now even the small jobs have stopped. God provided for us in many ways for the first few years butthis past year it doesn't seem like he's there. We keep sinking deeper & deeper into debt & depression. This has caused us to have many frequent HUGEfights with thoughts of divorce or separation. I don't like the people or family that we have become and don't know how much longer we can hold ittogether. People/Christian friends promise jobs and opportunities but never follow through. It feels like we can't even trust our Christian brothers &sisters to be there in our time of need. We've been trying to get close to God by reading the bible and praying more but it seems like there's been nopositive change in our lives & it only seems to be getting worse. We keep asking for a sign as to what to do. Try to sell the house before we end uplosing it, hang in and hope he finally finds a job that will get us out of this mess....I don't know. I feel so alone and cannot feel God anywhere inmy life. My children are suffering from the fighting and financial stress and we are all so UNHAPPY, DEPRESSED and feel like we are surrounded bymisery. PLEASE PRAY FOR US. For God to show us what to do, for us to be able to feel Him in our lives again.........

My husband of almost 11 years recently left me and told me he had been cheating on me and would continue to do so again if he had a chance. He told me he does not love me and didn’t think he ever had. As bad as that hurt, I know our child and I will be okay. However, he is still unsaved and now that he has left me, he does not attend church anywhere. Please pray that God will touch him and heal his broken spirit.

Zack Perkins, Motorcycle accident Monday, Critical condition, Doctors are predicting permanent brain damage but don’t know how severe, In a coma, heavily sedated. They reduced sedation a few minutes and he squeezed his mom’s hand, he is currently in Bristol Regional Hospital.

My husband is a truck driver, and he just changed companies last month. Please pray that this job goes well, and for his and other driver's safety. I take care of our two children. I have been praying for my spiritual growth and my husbands. I feel like I am growing in the Lord. Please pray for me not to get distracted, but to look to Him. Also that I will be the best Christian, mother, and wife I can be. Thank you for your prayers.

Please pray for my papaw he is really sick and they have only given him 2 days to live! He has been in and out of the hospital the last few weeks and he gets worse every day. He is 93 and has lived a great life! But pray for my granny cause she’s really stressing out ! My son Brady had heart surgery removing 350cc of fluid. He has been doing better, Until Friday when his chest started hurting. Went to the hospital for cat scan to See if there is a blood clot. Please pray for a fast recovery and a good report. He is only 25 yrs old and in a young marriage. He has been out of work for a monthAnd the hospital bill is mounting. They need a blessing. Thank you !
